Microbiotec’25 will be hosted at University of Azores, between 4-6 th December 2025.
The Microbiotec congress happens biannually since 2005 in a co-organization by the Portuguese Society of Microbiology and the Portuguese Society of Biotechnology.
This biannual congress aims to create an enthusiastic platform for discussion and collaboration between national and international researchers and stakeholders in diverse areas of Microbiology and Biotechnology, welcoming young researchers making their first steps into the scientific community. MICROBIOTEC’25 aims to promote knowledge and discussion among researchers, and between academia and industry. Is an opportunity to share and debate ideas and science during these three days focused on the innovations and challenges of microbiology and biotechnology research.

University of Azores
The congress venue is located at the University of Azores in the heart of Ponta Delgada, the capital, at São Miguel Island. Apart from the scientific program, São Miguel is a welcoming Island that offers visitors a mighty volcanic landscape, lagoons and geothermal vents.
The scientific program will consist of plenary lectures (5), keynote lectures (14), oral communications and poster presentation.
We expect the participation of around 400 congress participants.
